Gavin SmithWren Academies Trust Wren Academy Enfield St Mary's and St John's (SMSJ) | Gavin joined the Wren Academies Trust in January 2008 as part of the team which launched the opening of the Finchley school in the following September. In April 2015 he then became Secondary Principal of Wren Academy Finchley before being appointed Executive Principal of the Trust in September 2017. In 2020 he opened Wren Academy Enfield with a first cohort of Year 7 students and has successfully overseen the continued growth of the school and relocation into new permanent accommodation on the Chase Farm Hospital site. In February 2023 Gavin was seconded to become the Executive Principal of St Mary’s and St John’s (SMSJ) school so that he could provide interim leadership at a time of transition for the ‘All Through School’ based in Hendon. In addition to his responsibilities at SMSJ he remains Executive Principal of the Wren Academies Trust. Before joining Wren, Gavin worked as an Assistant Headteacher at East Barnet School having been a subject and pastoral leader at schools in South London. |
Aaron LivingstonWren Academies Trust | Aaron joined Wren Academies Trust in July 2023 and is responsible for the non-teaching and student services teams across the trust, including finance, HR, admin, ICT and premises. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC in Glasgow, joining their transaction post deal services team in London in 1999 where he supported corporate and public sector clients plan and implement mergers. Having project-managed one of their early growth acquisitions, Aaron later joined easyJet plc to build their internal change management team where the balance of customer service, financial management and compliance risk management became a strength and passion. A youth club leader for many years, Aaron became a governor of a faith primary school where he was active on the finance and resources committee for 10 years, ultimately as co-chair of the governing board. This experience led to him becoming interested in a career in education and he then became Director of Finance and Operations at an academy in Barnet before joining the Wren Academies Trust. |
John KeohaneWren Academy Finchley | John was one of the pioneer team of teachers who opened Wren Academy Finchley in September 2008. He was responsible for the teaching and learning of the school and was quickly promoted to the Academy Leadership Team. John became Principal of Wren Finchley in May 2020. Prior to joining Wren, John had taught successfully in Barnet and Haringey schools. |
Louisa TaylorWren Academy Finchley St Mary's and St John's (SMSJ) | Louisa joined the Trust in May 2015 in preparation for the opening of the Primary Phase and the arrival of the first 60 children in the first Reception class. Since then, she has successfully grown the Primary Phase up to Year 6 and has overseen the first cohort of students into the Secondary Phase in 2022. In February 2023 Louisa was seconded to also become the Executive Headteacher of St Mary’s and St John’s (SMSJ) so that she could provide interim leadership for the primary phase at a time of transition. Before joining Wren, Louisa had a strong track record of teaching in primary schools in Ealing and Croydon having started her career in special schools in South London. |
Ertunc HusseinWren Academy Enfield Principal | Ertunc joined Wren Academy Finchley in 2014 and took a leading role in creating the highly successful Sixth Form. He was then appointed to the Academy Leadership Team with the responsibility of student progress. In September 2020 Ertunc became Vice Principal of the newly opened Wren Academy Enfield and was then appointed Interim Principal in February 2023. Ertunc joined Wren Academy having been a successful teacher of Mathematics and part of the Leadership Team at Broomfield School. |
Shahriar TabriziMulti Academy Trust (MAT) ICT Systems Lead | Shahriar joined Wren Academy in March 2008 as a key member of the original team who set the school up with a first cohort of Year 7 students. A class of 96 Computer Science graduate with 9 years of IT management experience has enabled him to play a leading role in driving the Trust’s ICT vision and achieving high quality provision. Shahriar has expanded and modernised the trust’s ICT systems continuously by always staying a step or two ahead of the traditional IT set up found in most schools. This has resulted in the extensive use of tablets in teaching and learning as well as Wren becoming one of the pioneering leaders in embracing cloud computing. Shahriar continues to ensure that Wren breaks barriers in the way ICT is used, managed and supported, to provide an excellent education to all students. |
