Future Trust Growth Posted: 10/02/25

It is anticipated that SMSJ will now join the Trust within the academic year.

We are delighted that the London Advisory Board for the Regional Schools Commissioner has given the go ahead for St Mary’s and St John’s CE School (SMSJ) in Hendon to convert to an academy and join the Wren Academies Trust.  SMSJ is a successful all through school with 1780 children starting in Nursery and extending through to Sixth Form. It is anticipated that SMSJ will now join the Trust within the academic year.

The growth of the Trust will enhance the provision of all the schools as they continue to provide the very best education within a caring and supportive Christian ethos.

Gavin Smith, Executive Principal,  welcomed the development, stating: “After a successful two year partnership we are thrilled that SMSJ is now set to formally joining the Wren Academies Trust. This collaboration will further enhance learning opportunities, promote innovation and improve staff development. The integration will facilitate the greater sharing of best practice, resources and leadership expertise, which will benefit all members of our school communities”.

Alvyn Kee, Chair of the SMSJ Governors also expressed enthusiasm, saying: “Joining the Wren Academies Trust is an exciting opportunity for our school. We look forward to working together to continue delivering the best possible outcomes for our students and living out our foundational bible passage that ‘…with God all things are possible.’ (Matthew 19:26)
